Several organizations have come together to form the networking group THE UNITED ORGANIZATIONS COALITION. This group has scheduled a meeting with the individuals who are seeking a seat on the Kansas City school Board. You are invited to attend this meeting. Please invite others. Please come prepared to ask questions of the potential board members. Meeting place and time, S.E. Library, 63rd and Swope Parkway, 6:00 P.M. April 3, 2008. The United Organizations Coalition is ready to empower the Urban Core with the ability to effect change in our community. The U.O.C is currently focusing on 1. Stopping the killing, 2. The Kansas City School District, 3. The judicial system. We are calling on all who believe we can bring about a positive change. The coordinators for this event are, Ms.GG Owens, The Black Hat Society/Fashion Designer, and Mr. Lamar Vickers, People's Production/Activities coordinator for the U.O.C.. We will commit to leaders who value our children, our families, our community, and each other. All other priorities must be secondary. Another meeting is scheduled with Mayor Funkhouser for the 16th of this month. More information about that meeting later. Please notify your e-mail list so that we can ensure everyone who feels they need to be involved can be involved. We began by asking ourselves one question "What will it take to get where we need to go"? We developed a plan of action, and we are now in the process of writing our mission statement. I think the answer to the question will have a lot to do with "people". An organization is not the community, the community is made up of people, and people change things when they come together on one accord, and have a made up mind. It's long past time for change, not just in one city but in this nation. We believe we can take from the past what is good and bring it into the present in order to make positive progress through the benevolent use of knowledge. Please come to the meeting on the 3rd. I apologize for not getting this out earlier, but just received confirmations today.
Appreciate you,
Ester L. Holzendorf, Consolidated Social Work Services Inc. (A Change Agent).
