Progressive Campaigns

This book will list all of the progressive campaigns, political or issue, and list how to contact them. Hopefully these campaigns will enter every event into our calendar.

We need volunteers to gather all the information we can find on each campaign, and do a write up that we can store in this on-line book. If you want to volunteer, sign up for this web site, and volunteer. You can volunteer at this event.

Andy Sandler for Kansas 24th House District

Andy is a great candidate who is running for Kansas House of Representatives. He is a longtime resident of Mission who has been actively involved in his community for many years now.

From Andy's campaign website:

Welcome!

If you're ready to move Kansas firmly and decisively into the 21st Century, you've come to the right place. Change for the better starts with your support for a progressive and forward-thinking Kansas Legislature. For the people of Mission, northern Overland Park and southwestern Roeland Park, the coming legislative session is one of great opportunities and I am ready to work to move us ahead...in marked contrast to the past four years of embarrassing non-achievement. Having walked every precinct in this district and met thousands of you since early Spring, I know you are eager for positive change at the Statehouse.

I'M IN TOUCH AND ON YOUR SIDE!

Missy Taylor for 25th House District, Kansas

To the voters of District 25,

This time around - in this election- the citizens of Kansas are very clearly concerned about three issues: education, affordable health care and growing the economy.

That’s it. If the legislature can figure out how to deal effectively with those three issues, it will be a great success. They haven’t yet.

Instead of providing a great education for our children, they are playing political games, struggling over what should be an obvious choice for the future of Kansas.

Governor Sebelius proposed health care for every child from birth to age five, yet no bill was passed. A proposal to help small businesses provide health insurance for their employees was also rejected.

Do you see a pattern here? It’s time for a change.

I'm asking for your vote.

Sara Jo Shettles for U.S. House of Representatives 6th District Missouri

TIME FOR A CHANGE
“As Americans you should be angry at the current congressional policies that threaten our country's greatness. I know I am. This is why I decided to run for Congress. I can no longer accept the status quo. Our democracy gives the people the power and the vote to elect representatives who will listen and take our beliefs and needs to Washington. I believe our country can no longer survive being run by the special interests. We must put the people first.”

“Please join me and support my campaign to bring common sense and integrity back to our nation.”

Jason Norbury for Missouri's 8th Senate District

Like so many of us, the birth of my son Jasper caused a major reassessment of the priorities in my life. I came to understand that even though I could survive the mismanagement of our precious public resources, Jasper could not, and neither could the thousands of other Missouri children. No longer could I just sit by and wait for others to stand up and make Missouri government responsible to Missourians again.

Every day I am blessed to be surrounded by people who put their money and effort where their mouth is, who work tirelessly in serving those who most need it. They understand their responsibility to one another, and live up to that responsibility every day.

Our government has failed us in their responsibility to Missouri’s citizens. They have failed to take care of the health of our children, failed to protect the future of our state through education, and failed to protect the advancement of science and the medical cures stem cell research can provide.

We can do better, and bring back responsibility to Missouri government. With your help, I can make our government live up to its responsibility to provide healthcare, education, and progress to every Missourian.

Please take the time to explore my site, and see how you can help me be the next Senator from the 8th District of Missouri. www.votenorbury.com

Sincerely Yours,

Jason Norbury
