You have the power, now learn the skills! The Democracy for America Training Academy is coming to Kansas City, MO for two days of exciting campaign training.
How many votes will it take to win in November? How do you find the perfect message and get it out to voters in your district? How will you raise enough money to pay for it all?
The DFA Training Academy will help you answer these questions and more.

Greater Kansas City Democracy for America will hold its 4th Annual Progressive Values picnic on Saturday, June 14, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the main shelter in Loose Park in Kansas City. The shelter is at the entrance south of 5ist Street on Wornall Road.
Entertainment! Speakers! Games! Surprises! Politics!
GKCDFA will provide hotdogs, bratwurst, rolls, chips, condiments, drinks, plates, cups, napkins, and utensils.
You provide the conversation, fun, a side dish or dessert to share, and a toiletry donation for the Rose Brooks Center.

The Cass Co. Central Democratic Club meeting will be held on Thursday, June 26, at the Butcher Block Grille in the Mill-Walk Mall in Harrisonville. The speakers for the evening will be the District 1 (South) Commissioner candidates - Greg Durnell, Terry Wilson and Jim Barnard. This year's Living History Tribute Show features Myra Taylor, who is the queen of the 2008 fest.

Stage performances will be from 6-10 pm on Friday night and 1-10 pm on Saturday. Lawnchairs and coolers are welcome and concessions will be available.

We have scheduled a screening for BODY OF WAR here in KC at the Screenland next week.
This film by Phil Donahue and Ellen Spiro tells the story of Tomas Young, a soldier from KC who was paralyzed in Iraq in 2004 on his 5th day of duty.
Tomas has been battling complications and is currently hospitalized at St Luke's.
This will be the only chance to see the movie in KC before the DVD comes out.
The movie will be shown at the Screenland, 1656 Washington:
