Deputy Attorney General Rick Guinn will be our speaker.
Rick is the head of the Criminal Justice Division of the Attorney General's
office. He is also the Democratic candidate for Johnson County District
Attorney this year. Attorney General Steve Six has rescheduled for our January
breakfast.
A buffet is available at 8:15 am and the program begins at 9:00.

Croatian Day Picnic - 5 pm-11 pm
After the 4 pm Mass at St. John's, the St. John's Catholic Club sponsors the annual Croatian Day Picnic on the Strawberry Hill Museum grounds at 4th Street and Barnett. Admission is free, and the picnic features food and drinks, raffles and dancing. Music is by the Don Lipovic Band.

CASS CO. CENTRAL DEMOCRATIC CLUB MEETING, THURSDAY, JUNE 26
The Cass Co. Central Democratic Club meeting will be held on Thursday, June 26, at the Butcher Block Grille in the Mill-Walk Mall in Harrisonville. The speakers for the evening will be the District 1 (South) Commissioner candidates - Greg Durnell, Terry Wilson and Jim Barnard. Also speaking will be Charles Wheeler, candidate for Missouri State Treasurer. Dinner ($10) begins at 6:30 followed by the meeting and speakers at 7:00.

KCK residents Millage Gilbert, Blue 88, and Lonesome Hank will be performing, along with several other area and touring musicians. This year's Living History Tribute Show features Myra Taylor, who is the queen of the 2008 fest.
Stage performances will be from 6-10 pm on Friday night and 1-10 pm on Saturday. Lawnchairs and coolers are welcome and concessions will be available.

We have scheduled a screening for BODY OF WAR here in KC at the Screenland next week.
This film by Phil Donahue and Ellen Spiro tells the story of Tomas Young, a soldier from KC who was paralyzed in Iraq in 2004 on his 5th day of duty.
Tomas has been battling complications and is currently hospitalized at St Luke's.
This will be the only chance to see the movie in KC before the DVD comes out.
The movie will be shown at the Screenland, 1656 Washington:
