Join us for an evening of progressive political original music at Toto's coffeehouse.
Woody Guthrie would be writing tons of protest songs were he alive today. Woody was always an advocate for the worker, the environment, peace, and justice.
Come enjoy the protest songs written by today's local songwriters. WWWD will feature politically progressive singer/songwriters performing their most political songs, with perhaps a few old favorite political covers thrown in for good measure. The WWWD series will encourage songwriters to write new political material, and give them a venue for presenting this important material.
This book will identify and describe groups that aren't really progressive political activists groups, but are friendly to progressive causes. Unions are an example of what goes here.
This book will list all of the progressive campaigns, political or issue, and list how to contact them. Hopefully these campaigns will enter every event into our calendar.
We need volunteers to gather all the information we can find on each campaign, and do a write up that we can store in this on-line book. If you want to volunteer, sign up for this web site, and volunteer. You can volunteer at this event.

Heres a 60 second commercial for DFHA that you might hear on KKFI, 90.1 FM on occasion.
In case you would like a step by step HOWTO for posting a new event on DFHA.ORG, you found the right place. This may be more verbose than it needs to be, but once you go through it once, you will just be able to do it. Posting an event is really pretty easy if you have all the information in front of you.
Got everything together? Then let's begin.

DFHA offers a Free movie screening each month at the Plaza Public Library, with free popcorn and bottled water! In February we are offering more. We saw two on the 5th.
On February 26 we are showing "The War Tapes,"one of the most compelling documentaries of our time. Straight from the front lines in Iraq, "The War Tapes" is the first war movie filmed by soldiers themselves. "The War Tapes" is the complete story of three very different soldiers. It focuses not just on the war, but life back home and the difficult ways family and relationships change. You have never seen film like this before. The film is powerful and moving conveying both the passion and mindset of American soldiers and the incredible human and community cost of war. You will leave this movie more motivated than ever to end the occupation and bring our troops home.
Here are recordings of the What Would Woody Do (WWWD) events which DFHA sponsors. Attached to this page are "m3u" files that allow you to stream each set, starting with the January 20th event.
Please try out the stream provided and give some feedback on how it might be improved. You can make comments on this page.

It's time to celebrate the Democrat's return to the majority on Capitol Hill! Let's get together after the New Year and enjoy the moment.
DFHA is sponsoring a party on Saturday, January 6, 2007 starting at 6:30 at the Westport Flea Market party room. We'll eat some of the city's best burgers, drink some cold refreshments, and make our progressive activist resolutions for 2007. Be thinking about what we, as a progressive community, want to try to do locally, as well as nationally, in the coming year. We must hold the Democratic Congress' feet to the fire, and also work towards '08. Let's not lose any momentum.
RSVP at the Democratic Party web site: here
Or DFA-Link here.
